Test Policies
Frederick FSC holds test sessions approximately every three months for Moves in the Field, Freeskate, and Dance. All test applicants must be current members in good standing with their USFS home club, have the recommendation of their coach, and pay the appropriate fees.
Test applications may be downloaded from this website. Applications are also available in the hanging file rack next to the glass showcase at Skate Frederick.
May 2008 Test Application
Frederick FSC welcomes out-of-club skaters. A letter of permission from the test applicant’s home club must accompany the test application along with the signed Waiver which can be downloaded from this webpage.
Completed test applications, with full payment, must be received by the Test Chair no later 1:00 PM of the Saturday two weeks prior to the Sunday testing session Applications may be mailed, placed in the Frederick FSC mail drop-box at Skate Frederick, or handed directly to the Test Chair. Applicants who choose to mail their application should allow sufficient time for it to arrive before the deadline listed below.
Members of Frederick FSC are eligible to participate in test sessions hosted by other USFS member clubs. Applications vary between clubs; carefully follow all instructions stated by the host club. Skaters must allow sufficient time before the test application due date to obtain necessary signatures. Frederick FSC members must obtain the permission of the Test Chair of the Frederick FSC before participating in a test session at another club.
Test Fees
Test fees vary; please see application. Test fees noted on the application are for home-club and associate members of the Frederick FSC. Non-Frederick FSC members must pay an additional $50 fee (per test session).
Thirty minutes of practice ice is available before the start of the test session. The charge for practice ice is $10.
Please make checks payable to: Frederick Figure Skating Club.
After the application due date, there will be no refunds for cancellations except due to illness or injury. In such case, a doctor's note must be provided to the Test Chair for refund.
Late applications will be accepted at the discretion of the Test Chair and will be subject to a $25 late fee.
Returned checks will be subject to a $25 fee.
Upcoming Test Sessions
Tests are scheduled for the following dates: May 18, 2008; August 24, 2008; October 5, 2008; December 7, 2008.
Frederick FSC conducts all test sessions at Skate Frederick Ice Sports & More. A locker room is available for skater’s belongings.
Test sessions are held on Sundays from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Practice ice is available from 8:15 – 8:45 AM.
Test applicants should arrive 45 minutes before their scheduled test time. Skaters must check in with the Test Chair, or designee, upon arrival.
The next test session is scheduled on Sunday, May 18, 2008.
Applications must be received by the Test Chair no later than 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2008.
The test schedule will be posted at frederickfsc.org and in the glass showcase at Skate Frederick when it becomes available.
